Jesus Walks on Water

Jesus walks on waterOne day, after Jesus finished preaching to the multitude, He went to а hill to pray alone.  Jesus asked His disciples to wait for Him in a boat.  Evening came.  The night was windy, and the boat was carried to the middle of the sea.

In early hours of the morning, the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water towards them.  But when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, “It is a ghost!” But immediately He spoke to them, saying, “Take heart, it is I; have no fear.” (Matthew 14:26-27)

Then Peter told Jesus that he also wanted to walk on the water.  Jesus said to him, “Come.”  So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus; but when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” (14:29-30)  Jesus stretched out His hand and helped Peter saying to him, “O man of little faith, why did you doubt?” (14:31)  Peter safely got back into the boat, and the wind stopped.

All the other disciples who witnessed the miracle were amazed.  And they said, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
